Success Story from Beachcomber Fiberglass

Mark Summerfield, a local boat broker, contacted Beachcomber Fiberglass regarding a client of his that had just purchased a 2008 64’ Hatteras. The boat was having some service work done prior to it being shipped to Sydney, Australia, its new home port. He was in a rush to get a swim platform made for the boat prior to it leaving the county in two weeks.

After having a conference call with the broker and owner, we immediately set out to the service yard to measure the boat’s transom for the swim platform. At the service yard, the boat was measured and the location of the brackets was noted to make for an easy install. We then worked with the new owner and his specific design of using oval relief slots instead of long horizontal slots for drainage.

Once the design and dimensions were established, we immediately got to work on fabricating the platform and the stainless-steel brackets.

platform completed in two weeks The platform was completed in two weeks and delivered to the service yard. Because of the prior planning and locating of the brackets, the yard was able to install the swim platform on the boat within a day. The boat was put back in the water the next morning and quickly delivered to the shipper just before the shipping deadline.
